    Degreasing/Cleaning engine bay

    Hey guys,

Anyone taken the hose into the engine bay. With my cold car I used to cover the alternator and battery with plastic bag degrease it abit and then spray down the engine bay gently with a hose. I'd then drive the car afterwards to "steam" off any standing water in crevaces.

Has anyone done this with their DC2R ?

Hope Honda waterproofed their engine bay

cover your alarm aswel, oh you dont have one jkz

yeh should be alrite, thats how we use to clean our customer cars after servicing. but we use the air blower gun to dry it after wards, then sprayed silicon spray and wd-40 in on some areas.

thats exactly how i do it, then turn the motor on and the heat evaporates all the water away...

Only thing i worry about is directly spraying the distributor or plugs (which have a plastic cover over them anyway) or any other electrical devices.

i use gaffer/duct tape to cover sensitive plugs/dizzy cap and the alarm siren...

using low pressure water is a good idea...

Thanks Guys. Will do sounds reletively safe if you're cautious. Yep, I do have an alarm, so I'll cover that up as well.

I only degreased my engine bay a few months ago... plastic over the important electrics, spray degreaser, then hose or bucket with water, then go for a drive.

                      No issues at all.
