Dillemma - exhaust and header choices? option?

    Hey folks..

i am starting my new job (at a bar) soon, and with this new influx of very little money i have decided on the mugen air intake and apexi pfc ecu as i already have a full 'xforce' 2.25 exhaust, 3 inch cannon w/ headers that came with the car when i purchased it..

from my reading ive seen that you guys on your dc2's have buddyclub and spoon etc headers with high flo catbacks etc etc..

so basically, should i invest another $1500-300 on quality exhausts such as these or keep my xforce, or is the differance not noticably worth the investment?

    thanks

from what ive heard about dc2's the gains from bolt ons is not significant so my recommendation would be the intake and ecu.

    Mind you i drive a dc5r, not a dc2.
    My thoughts.

^ive already decideded on the intake and ecu Didz, but my question is should i invest in ALSO replacing the exhaust, or leaving it the way it is considering i dont have the biggest budget :S

the change will be very unnoticable
xforce are bent and shaped extremly similar to the buddyclub exhausts
unless you want the buddyclub symbol on the back of your exhaust xforce is just as good as buddyclub

            Stupidest title ever.

PowerFC will give u less gains than the zorst in my opinion. Stock is 2.25 so I don't know why you would throw X force garbage on there.

if you wanna play around with 3k.

I would recommend you get an aftermarket lightened flywheel and clutch kit (ORC,Exedy etc) and an aftermarket ecu+tune like Hondata.

I recon you would get more gains that way than getting another exhaust and intake.

I believe the stock intake box is good, just DIY a CAI pipe to the base of the box and get a KnN pod filter for it.

i would upgrade the headers and exhaust

i had custom 2.25 catback with spoon replica headers, i changed to BC3 catback and the improvement was amazing!
midrange (5-6000rpm) i gained 13kw@wheels, top end 5kw, all this with stock ECU untuned, well worth it IMO!

stock intake box with deleted resonator + K&N filter = good enough

toda headers and 60mm exhaust will make the best difference...

ECU will help too, as long as it is properly dyno tuned by an expert...

Chi - doesnt sound liek he is into circuit racing, so flywheel combo would be a waste,

exhaust upgrade will give him the biggest kick in the pants...

Spend your money on headers mate (Toda). The cat back stuff is generally the same. Like I say, a pipe is a pipe, as long as it is Mandrel bent. Light flywheel will all make you happy in the pants.

Personally I would spend my money on suspension. makes your car soo much fun to drive... street or track driven!

...the whole point is i didnt throw the xforce on there, i bought the car with it already installed if youd bother to read my first post..and the 2.25 piping doesnt have as many bottle necks as the standard dc2 exhaust so im guessing thats why they did it..

thanks for the help though guys, as tinkerbel said i havnt gone to the circuit, and this would be purely just for the street but at the same time i would prefer quality parts aslong as the differance is noticable.

jdmyard wants $899 for the BC3, i would find the better advantage with the upgraded headers though right? as it is just a pipe :S

i heard *someone* on here upgraded just to Toda header with stock exhasut and noticed a good improvement over AUDM type R headers...

i alos think the Skunk2 is fine as well, i got one for 599 from JDM yard... not sure what current prices are like though, but should be excellent due to great aussie dollar...

If it helps any, my setup is a 2.5" B pipe mated to a Mugen twinloop. Sounds awesome, haven't had it dynoed yet, but when i get pFc I will.

                              2.25 is quite restrictive.

                              My choice would be
Hytech replica headers 4-2-1 $420 US
                              2.5" B pipe
                              200 Cell SMSP Cat
and then Exhaust of your choice.
