    cracked brake rotors

i have had endless/zeal streight6 slotted front brake rotors since march 2006 on my car, with endless na-r pads.
recently i noticed that they are starting to crack. the car has seen 2 trackdays (at mallala, which is very hard on brakes), some winding road driving and is daily driven.
is this an average lifespan of slotted rotors or would they be expected to last longer? i know racing teams replace them regularly but i didnt think mine had THAT much abuse..

    haha I'm with you buddy
I've had Endless Straight-6 Rotors with Carbonetics Street Pads
2 Track days, and there's allready surface cracks and hairline cracks
    pretty disappointed really.
    Were your rotors bought new?

My spoon rotors had heat spots all over them. I swapped back to my stockies. I'll upload some pics this weekend of what they look like.

          for the expert:
does this usually cause by rapid cooling? ie drive for a while with minimal braking after spirited drive or minimal braking on cool down lap?

I'm no expert, but I would guess its due to not enough cool down laps with minimal braking. Might have saved mine if I did more cool down laps, get more air flowing through the discs.

Well, since it looks like Endless NA-R pads are effectively a "circuit" pad, with operating temperatures up to 600degrees C, it doesn't really surprise me that your rotors are showing signs of stress!

I think any rotors, slotted or not, would show signs of stress using those pads after a track day.

my DBA4000's are slightly cracked, after over 350 laps... and one season of supersprints...

it is the spider webby type surface cracks though, not actual structural cracks though...

i am VERY happy with teh performance of these rotors, as they have seen three sets of pads - OEM replacements (gone in 1 track day!), ENDLESS NA-Y's and Ferodo DS2500 (50% worn)
                  ... retired/

yeah im not surprised they are showing signs of stress but 1 crack i noticed is quite obvious, not just tiny spider-webby stuff..mm..might send centrax an email..

                        ..so..
i have looked at the dba 4000 series but have been quoted ~$800 for the par which is same price as the endless ones.
any other recommendations? i had p.mu pads a while ago and felt quality was much lower than endless, and they lasted a lot less so im not that keen on p.mu discs.
anyone have ap racing discs? any feedback would b appreciated..

Are you sure its the DBA4000 series and not the DBA5000 series?
pretty sure DBA4000 should be much cheaper than that...

Thats way too expensive for DBA4000

mine were close to half that price for my front sets.
