Am i correct that the type R (DC5) has a Double din cd player with a small sub in the spare wheel? If so is it possible to hook up a larger sub to it?

I am researching this as i wish to put a double din cd in my car.

the america RSX comes with double din and a sub in the spare wheel, but i have read the factory sub is pretty crap, and dont think you can hook up a bigger sub in it since aftermarket sub woofer have much larger magnet

yes u can put a double din deck into a DC5, just take out the pocket thats in there to fill the gap left by the stock single din.

for your time, effort and money, i think it's much better off buying aftermarket stereo equipment

What are you gonna use with the headunit?

Ipod? MP3 CD's, normal CD's etc etc

For ipod use, I would go Alpine all the way with ipod Full speed, soo easy to use.

Eclipse is another good brand, and the SQ is fantastic, tho the GUI is not that great.

Are you gonna upgrade speakers, add external amps as well?
