    Fixing DC5r Recaros

    hey all...

i was just wondering if it is possble to DIY the foam of the recaro seats (the outside bottom part) or if it would be best to take it to a pro.

    thanks for your help guys

recaro retrimming was brought up a few times on clubrsx. from memory, here were the results of discussions:

          1. no one got off their ass to ring around to auto retrimmers to get a cost on repadding bolsters or retrimming the seat.
          2. it was not a good idea to just retrim one side or one part if the retrimmer didn't have access to recaro alcantra material
          3. someone posted a source of recaro alcantra material from the uk and it was fairly affordable.
          4. the marks that appear to be wear from the seat belts can be cleaned off with meguiars upholstery cleaner.

why don't u do what no one else has been bothered to do and ring around and get quotes and report them back in this thread. i would if i needed it done. i was lucky enough to have another forum member trade his R in to a dealership, so before he did, we swapped seats and his (now mine) is near perfect

they can get the foam for the bolsters aswell and a reapair kit ro reduce the side to side movement in the backrest

autotek aren't the importer for recaro anymore.
                    its now www.idealseat.com.au
i went through all of this a while ago when i damaged part of my seat.
the fabric that is in the centre of the back and bottom sections is only alcantara material is recaro fabric tho.
