      using Redline super liteweight shockproof.

      at the moment its in need of a change (read: cold starts), but even when it warms up its gets rid of the 2nd gear crunch the car had when i first bought it.

      should be getting a service soon, so i'll be putting that stuff back in.

        It seems the super lightweight shockproof is very popular but i talked to a redline oil reseller and he said ppl usulaly buy lightweight shockproof instead of super lightweight. I m thinking to change the gear oil but dont know if i should go ahead with the super lightweight one. Any thoughts guys?

            Sorry i m asking a noob question here. Whats the difference between a Manual Transmission Lubricant and Gear Oil? i thought they are the same but actually they are not. Recently i feel that my gear shift doesnt feel as smooth, which fluid should i change to improve the gear shift as well as the 2nd gear grind problem?

              I talked to the representative from redline oil australia today, as for daily driving he recommended light weight shockproof instead of superlight weight. I will give that a go soon ;-)

                    Yeah, I'm running Redline MTL on my DC2R. It's really good - the gear changes are smooth now. I changed it straight after I brought my car 2 years ago as the gear changes seemed notchy. Changed to Redline MTL and the gear shifting was a lot more smoother - you can really tell the difference!

                      Motul, Redline, Royal Purple or Honda MTF?

                      What would you rank from best to worst?

                        I've used Redline MTL in my DC5R gearbox twice now, with stints of MTF06 and Royal Purple inbetween both Redline MTL changes.

                        I don't rate MTF06 very highly, because the shifting feel becomes crap after a track day. For some reason, the gearbox is more prone to crunching. On the other hand, redline MTF hasn't given me the same issues after the recent track day that I went to.

                        To me, once the gearbox is warmed up the MTL provides a smoother shift than the MTF, which is about the same as the RP Syncomesh that I've previously used. I like the MTL and would reccomend it over the MTF.
