    HID Question...

    Hey guys I'm a complete n00b when it comes to HIDs and how to install the kits you can buy and what is needed/involved...

    Our headlights (DC5/R/S) are H1 right? So why do I see people using H4 kits and the like? Do all kits need X-clips to be modified and how easy is it to go back to normal bulbs if I want to? Like I said I'm a total n00b so ANY info on the topic would be greatly appreciated...

    First of all, try to keep the discussion not about using HIDs on the street as they're illegal and we don't endorse illegal discussion/activities on the forums.

    Are you sure you've seen DC5 owners using H4 kits?
    I have a H1 kit myself and I got some x-clips off a mate that were already modified as I didn't want to modify my own in case I wanted to return back to halogens.
    Sorry, I'm not sure how easy it is to return back to halogens as I don't see why you'd want to do it unless if you were selling your car?

      I bought the MU secret HID kit, made in Germany FTW!!
      They where very easy to install,
      Take the original bulb out. Take the Bulb adapter off and plug the Unit in.
      then insert the new HID light and there you go simple. the hardest thing is getting your hands to fit. I dont have azn hands so i was missing abit of skin after that install.

          I thought the Mu Secret kit was made in china using german technology what ever that means. Or was it made in Germany with chinese technology.

              You see people using H4 kits because their car uses H4 globes.
              Not sure if X clips need to be modified but on H4 kits they don't need to be.
              Yes DC5's are H1

                To put it simly and to answer your questions

                What to buy?
                1) Mu Secret H1 HID kit - for DC5
                2) 2 new X-clips (or your stock ones can be modified easily enough)
                3) Maybe a friend to help you out

                    Alright now I realise where I was getting confused with H1 and H4... the salesman at a certain store I went to didn't really seem to know what was going on... when I asked him about what kit I need he looked on his computer and said "ahh looks like you need a HB4 kit, I've sold a fair few to Integra drivers" (that's where I got the h and the 4 from)... He must have looker up and gotten the info for DC2R

                    DC2R's are HB4 right?

                        DC2 = HB4 aka 9006
                        DC5 = H1

                        These are for low beam.

                          I'm in the process of doing a retrofit for a member of this forum - Accord Euro projectors (HID) into DC5S headlights. Should look awesome.... Will post pics when complete.

                              you have to remove that adaptor that is on stock if that is the x clips.
