    Fitting Rims - S15

    Hi guys,

Tried fitting my new rims on tonight.. ran into a few problems! Just need a hand/suggestions/thoughts on what I should do.. thanks!

    The sizes are as follows

    F: 235/40/18x8.5 +32
    R: 265/35/18x9.5 +38

The sizes are the recommend 18" sizes from work/rays.

However, my front wheels are slightly rubbing against my coilover strut (hks hipermax) even with a 5mm spacer. I tried using a 10mm spacer and it still barely clears the strut (problem with this now is, it sits too far out)

    Suggestions?

Suggestion 1: Change back to ur standard wheels. =P
Suggestion 2: Get different coilovers. =P

Now more seriously what do u mean by strut? Can you show us a picture?

Is adjusting the coilover up or down likely to fix the problem?

Also, have you tried searching Nissan Silvia - I just went to but it appears to be down.

        hey aaron..

20mm is enough.. but then the wheels will stick out of the guards too much..

guess Ill have to roll the fronts.. -.- camber wont sold it hitting the coilovers unfortunately

To be entirely honest, I cannot tell what you are saying and whether it is on topic or off topic. Could you please try using complete sentences and remember this is the technical part of the forum.

                  Anyways back on topic.

I've read on another s15 forum, and someone has had experience with 235 tyres on the front. This requires 10mm to clear most coilovers (seems about right)

By the way, is it possible to use 2x5mm spacers, or is that plain stupid?

                    From memory the wheels I had were 17x8.5 +15/20 and 17x9.5 +25
These sat flush with the guards on my 34 and also the S15 it went on when I sold them.

If it's rubbing against your struts then you'll need bigger spacers. Those offsets might be ok for stock wheels but do not seem correct for such a wide rim.

the offsets are the recommended ones by work/rays for S15/33 and sit flush in my guards (ignoring contact with the coilovers)

Not too sure what to do as I believe if the tires were 225 up front, it would fit without spacers and without contacting the strut..

Anyways, if I run wider spacers, I have the problem of sticking out.. SIGH!!!

                        not much choices

                        1. change rim
                        2. change coilovers
                        3. put spacer and roll/pump guard
                        4. let the rim fuck up your coilover then get some pimp air bag suspension
                        5. let the rim fuck up your fender then get some Z3 fender's
