    Cheers.

    1) Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery and hold down the brakes until the brake lights won't activate anymore (getting rid of the charge in the system) and then leave it for a couple of minutes - 15? Reconnect up the battery and then away you go. You'll have to let the car idle for a while, whilst it learns its idling process again, etc.

    OR

    2) Disconnect the ECU fuse (I'm not sure which fuse this is)

do the steps above, keep in mind:
turn off all accessories ie. radio heater lights etc. on initial startup. and dont rev the engine while ecu is relearning. just let it idle until the radiator fan turns on and turn off the engine.

If you are still using your OEM cd player make sure you have the code for it. Rough idle at first due to ECU learning to idle as stated above.

EDIT: Also your AUTO function on the drivers side power window may not work. All you need to do is let the window go up and down a few times fully and it will work again.

Is this the same for the DC2R?

And what benefits do you gain from re-setting your ECU?

Just remove the radio fuse and it'll reset

u can reset your ecu by just pulling out the ecu fuse, much quicker and radio/windows wont be affected

Which one is the ECU fuse? I've never been able to work out which one it was.

Have you looked at the workshop manual?

I dunno about DC5R but resetting in the DC2R was pretty simple...though I dunno...I don't see my fingers being fat but I couldn't get the fuse out so I had to use pliers...lol

                        see the attachment

there's also a mini pair of plastic pliers in the ecu box u can use to pull the fuse out, i didn't realise that for quite a while and used to use pliers as well haha

hey guys, does resetting the ecu help to reset the TPS in the throttle body cause i have a new 70mm BDL throttle body installed making my car idle and rev alot higher than usual. i dont know. is it always set to to 62mm or whatever it is?

I'm in a similar situaton - replaced my throttle body because of faulty TPS and now it seems to idle a lot higher on startup. It comes down to around 1000rpm, which is still high, after 3-5min.

I searched through crsx a while ago for it but couldn't find it so I gave up. Indeed the workshop manual would have been the smart thing to do

                              Thanks 05DC5S

jlo: something about relearning how you drive and how to to vary its fuel maps. People usually reccomend it after adding/removing mods so that the ECU can re-learn and cater for the additional modification.
