    dc2 Boot leak

Does anyone know general places a dc2 may leak from in the boot???

its comming from the left side of the boot i know that...and i have a feeling it may be comming from around the sealing around the light...but i have no proof, been in with torch, taken light off and such... any ideas on where else to look...cos im pretty sure its not the boot seals either...

    Thanks

It is most likely coming in from around a tail light.

highly unlikely to be the boot seal...

more likely to be tail lights...

have the tail lights been removed? or has it ever been hit from behind in an acco...

i had this same problem a while back and it would only happen if my Nose of the car was pointed downwards on a slope and in the rain.

mine actually came in the Boot seal.. but i replaced that..

IMO pretty hard for rain hit the tailight and somehow seep sideways into your boot.. easier for it to go downwards..

i replaced my boot seal which had a crack in it originally a big crack.. and i dont think i have had that problem since..

this is going to sound really stuppid.. but i swear this is how i spotted the leak..

park your car put down your back seats..

sit down inside the car staring backwards if you have to lie down in the car or sit ontop of your backseats

and get a friend to throw buckets of water on the car.. and look for leaks

granted we are in water restrictions so please use rain water(tank water) or grey water =P

i have to say though the reason i noticed the leak in the first place was because i was cleaning my interior while someone was washing the outside of my car with water ^_^..

but i did notice a stale stench in my car prior to that..

                now no more =P..

even though this is only sort of related to this

.. my DC2R had a water leak from the rear windscreen washer ... the hose leading up the left hand side of the car was cracked right where the one way valve was also i found that my one way valve was seized as well

what was also odd was the hose was a funny color really dark amber color .. i guess this is from heat from the roof

I've found water has been leaking into my boot too... not seen it on the carpet so must be lower... unfortunately some wanker rear-ended me about 2 years ago...

I guess i will have to check the light seals and boot gasket..

I reckon sitting inside while someone pours water on it outside might work. i will give it a go!
