    szymonsta's new bits..

wanted to share with all you guys the latest tuning bits for my car:

    M-Bit 4-2-1 exh. mani.

looks absolutely awesome. very high quality finish, one piece, polished, and has perfect welds. weighed on the bathroom scales at ~ 4.5 - 4.8kg, ie. less than half of what the oem headers weigh, and significantly less than the jdm 4-1's (i think theyre about 8.5kg?). finish on the inside looks very high quality too. i cant wait to get these installed, will be interesting to see if there's any change compared to my jdm4-1's..i will be running it with jdm cat and my fgk pg.
piping dia. of 45-50.8-60.5mm seems to be the ideal for best flow, the design has longer and larger dia. primary runners compared with most other 4-2-1 designs.
they come with new gaskets and a few other bits and bobs..

yay. these look sooo porn. yum.
    see attached piccies..

    Mugen (M-TEC) baffled sump
very high quality finish, the baffle welding looks top-notch. comes with gasket as well. will get this installed when i'm removing the headers..i think it's good to have for peace of mind on the track, esp as im running s-tyres.

All parts purchased through CENTRAX AUTO. They are the most professional tuning workshop i have dealt with, always provide products, service and advice of the highest standard. I highly recommend them.

Looks great. I hope you post up some reviews when you get them installed. I'd particularly be interested in how the exhaust manifold performs. If you don't mind, how much does the exhaust manifold cost? I understand if you don't want to say.

will definitely do a review after its installed. tho i dont think i'll b doing any dyno runs anytime soon, so results will have to be bum-dyno based..

had the m-bit's and mugen sump installed today along with my 100,000k service..
i can't say enough how much im impressed by the high quality finish of the headers! mechanic was also impressed! too early for reviews but initial impressions are that the car has a lumpier sounding idle than previously, though i dont think its any louder as such, just a little deeper but crisper sound? also it feels as if theres a little bit more torque particularly at low and middle engine speeds, and perhaps a little more top end too, but overall slightly smoother power curve than with the jdm4-1's where the vtec changeover and extra push over the last 3000rpm seemed more pronounced compared to the rest of the power band, now its a more progressive build of power without as much of a 'step' (though there still definitely is one!).
here's a piccie of them installed. nice huh?

no we wont! we will insist szymon makes sure he gets the day off from work for the next Adelaide dyno day so we can see his results versus my baseline stock results.

lets put some more pressure on him fellas!

PS: i saw these new headers before they went on.. they were absolutely amazing compared to stock

just a bit of an update..
the m-bit's are looking awesome. they have turned gold, with blue-silver tinge..looks sexy!
i went for a bit of a drive today on my favourite winding road. as a 'seat of the pants' impression i would say that compared with the jdm4-1's the maximworks 4-2-1's have a slight gain in torque throughout the rev range, including part-throttle-to-full-throttle out-of-corner acceleration. also slight increase in top end power..very happy!
