    Newbie

    Hey guys,
i am the proud new owner of a DC5R MY2002 in Melbourne.

it is completly standard and i am very happy with the performance... but that is never enough is it?

i was looking into whiteline anti sways, what do you guys reckon for a first mod?

i think this is the way to go but your input is much appreciated. also i'm on a tight budget as i just bought the car.

it is a street driver but i am very enthusiastic about it if you know what i mean (and yes i am sensible, i promise)

i have been track racing before and aim to do it regularly, so yeh i love the firm ride. i know there is whitleline heavy or extra heavy duty adjustables?

also i am capable working on cars, and is fitting relatively easy or hard for front and rear sways.

    Cheers guys

    hey welcome to the forum!

lots of advice around here, but you need to let us know your goals/aims/intentions?

do you go to race circuits or just street driving?

    what colour is your car????

      where in melb..

theres a fair few of us around the Boxhill area that are honda Bias.. i meen honda Enthusiast...

      hehe...

please dont tell me your car is BLUE

theres to many blue Dc5 in this area haha...

and for track you could almost take it down to the circuit stock if you got no money to spend on mods yet and save up for stuff later on..

you dont have to mod to track your car.. although in generaly people do mod neway.. but you could track a perfectly stock car =P..

and before argument breaks out about what mods you should do first im just going to say.. peoples opinions are just opinions =P..

      just as a side note..

theres a Guy on this forums i think AUDMDc5r i think Vel his name.. ran on Winton on completely stock sussy setup with only exhaust and swaybar mods (i think, i never asked what mod he had just someone told me =P).. and DId better than people with alot more mods i dont remember his time but he was in the 1 minute 40 or something.. (i wouldent be suprised if he was faster =P)...

        my car is red!

i know i have been to the track with a stock ZZT 231 celica and was still heaps a fun.

and just from driving the stock DC5R i feel that it would benefit from sways.... and they are cheap and effective!

do you guys know about fitting?

wow you guys are quick to reply here!

well i dont think fitting Dc5 swaysbars are hard..we plan on fitting rear and fronts for a friends car in the next 3 weeks.. but really almost anything can be a DIy =P..

i dont think theres been anything so far that we cant do =P.. yet.. (except welding)

and 24mm adjustable front and back

i want it as a street driver too so not frkn harsh.

i dont know actually they at my place i havent had a look at them..

but i pretty sure its the adjustable one.. not sure on thickness 24mm?

i think sussy makes up most of the harshness more so than sways.. then again i have never done sway mods on my car yet so i dont know =P..

                      Welcome man ,
I changed the rear sway on my DC5 a couple of weeks ago to the JDM version (22mm I think) compared to 19mm stock, and my initial impressions are good. I will be taking it to the track next monday so I should be able to get a better idea of the improvement. The rear sway is really easy to change, took me about half an hour.

does it feel good with just the rear? wouldn't you want the front as well cos they are designed to work together... for more overall balance?

thanks guys. one big happy family here
