Brake set up on your DC2R

Hi guys

I'm currently thinking of upgrading my brake set up. I was looking at upgrading the calipers and rotors. I know that the Spoon calipers won't fit on the OEM 15" DC2R rims unless I use spacers which I am told isn't a good idea.

Just wondering what you DC2R owners are using for your brake set up?

I know felixR had aftermarket rotors with stock calipers and I think he is happy with them...AFAIK, he had Project MU ones...

i don't have a DC2R but i have the following brake setup:

front:

DBA 4000 slotted 282mm rotors
OEM DC2R brake calipers
Plot braided brake lines
Ferodo DS2500 brake pads

rear:

OEM DC2R 260mm rotors
OEM DC2R brake alipers
Plot braided brake lines
Ferodo DS2500 pads

Motul RBF600 fluid,
OEM 1in master cylinder and booster
Cusco master cylinder brace

I thought Felix got project mu rotors?

caliper upgrades on DC2R are usually not necesary, due to the massive size that they get from factory... (for such a light car)

the pads/fluids/lines/rotors option should improve braking a fair bit, with the addition of calipers only adding a bit more to the outright performance...

however, doing them all at once might save you money in the long run? but only if you are really going to be demanding alot from your brakes, like with ongoing circuit work... where the addition of multi-pot alloy calipers improves the pad friction consistency as well as heat disapation and cooling...

For track I would do pads, fluid and high temp rotors. Those 3 are enough to give you reliable repeatable braking.

With decent pads and fluid you'll shortly discover the limits of the OEM rotors. With good fresh fluid changed carefully by hand my brake pedal feels rock hard with stock non-braided lines.

I run porsche GT2 rear calipers on my fronts with custom 2 peice 330mm rotors drilled only. my pads are ebc red and run steel braided brake lines and 2 brake pressure sensors to an adjustable front/rear and left/right brake bias adjuster.

Fluid is elf brake fluid

I'm really happy with my Ferodo DS2500's... apart from their rather dusty habits!

I have DBA 4000 series rotors up front also.
