    starting problem: dc2r

Ok. went to start the car this morning... car didnt start... it had plenty of battery..the engine was turning over fine.. but the engine just wouldnt start..

all the accessories were working fine..

car gets used everyday without fail for at least 70kms.,.but it hadnt been started in two days..

the last time i used it i ran the tank down really low before filling it up...could i have burnt out my fuel pump?

had to rush of to work in another car so i couldnt really diagnose the problem 100%

I know it is a simple problem and i will get some smart a55 replies like: check the battery etc... i am just after some general things to look at when i get home to help diagnose the problem..

I get that problem too every now and then - it was my piggyback alarm module. I just key-off and key-in again and it starts fine. Hate dealer fitted crap.

do you hear the fuel pump priming when you have the key turned to one notch before it cranks over?

You may think it isn't the battery but I thin it probably is.

        Go get your battery tested.

If the motor is cranking at the same speed it usally does then the battery should be fine. Get your coil tested they some times just go then not go. Even a coil thats giving small spark may not have enough go in it to ingnite when under compression ie. in the cylinder

mm the last time i had a problem like that.. the sparkplugs were umm whats the word "fouled".. either way there was to much fuel on it or something.. and its just fouled up and didnt spark.. replace? or take out and clean and give it a go again?

                stock engine management...

i figured the problem out... no oil... the dipstick holder had moved allowing oil to escape/evaporate.. such a dumb problem... cant believ the oil indicator didnt show low oil... and its hard to tell when youve got the accessories lights lit...

engine is making a funny noise..very noisy...gna get it checked out....

                hope its nothing expensive =(

                anyways guys

                cheers big ears..

                    PS - dont drive it!

get someone to come and check it out - do NOT try and start it again!!!
