Does FGK power getter need modification for high flow cat?
For the DC2R, does the Power getter need to be modified for a high flow cat, and why?
Thanks!
as long as the high flow cat you are going to use is the same length as a JDM dc2r cat im sure it will be fine...you just gotta find the flanges from a JDM cat, if you are using a after market header.
modify the cat flange/length if possible, not the cat-back FGK PG.
jdm headers, cat and cat-back are different individual lengths to audm even though length of total combined exh system is obviously the same.
ideal fittment of jdm cat-back exh such as FGK PG requires either a custom length high flow cat to bolt onto ur stock audm headers
OR
jdm headers (honda or aftermarket), jdm cat (honda or aftermarket).
(i have M-bit jdm headers, jdm honda cat and FGK PG).

Thanx szy. I've also got a jdm cat which interfaces my header and current catback. When I swap my catback, I was thinking of moving to a high-flow cat for more gurgle - any for the little cfm improvement as the inlet of the jdmcat is smaller than the outlet.
I remember that most aftermarket high-flows are longer than the jdm cat, especially the ones with a higher cfm value such as catco or carsound 2'5" (which had around 75% improvement over jdm) but wasnt sure whether you could actually reduce the length of the cat to fit
I'm using a 2.5" carsound cat, IIRC its same length as the JDM cat from flange to flange. On the axle-back end is a standard 2.5" flange, but the Header -> Cat flange was a major PITA to source, a friend ended up getting it from the US. Used the donut gasket from a CRV, you can get this from Honda. Fits perfectly though, all bolt on.

Thanks Big J. Do I need the donut gasket? I only have a triangular flat sheet gasket ...
Why don't you install it at a workshop and get your cat there then you can choose which cat to get after they remove your stock cat.
Because, back in the day, most exhaust shops don't carry the 2.5" flanges and other parts ... so rather than having to go back and forth .. I just want to make sure I have everything ready
euge u should already have the donut gasket between your header and cat
i had a 2.5" catco cat at my house! u should have bought that as well
blooody
haha
haha .. I didn't have enough cash on me eric!! you coulda sold me the kitchen sink if I didn't get going ...
How much you want for the catco? is it the std or metal core? How old is it?
The thing is, my exhaust has been on so long, I can't remember what gaskets I have installed ... i don't recall a donut, but then... i don't recall alot of things these days
