Recommendations for cold air intake K20A

Folks, I have an Elise I am converting to run a Honda JDM spec K20a http://forum.clubitr.com.au/showthre...ise-K20A-build

I have seen the following cold air intake

    Honda-Elise1.jpg

This connects to the air scoop on the side of the car http://ntcars.free.fr/photos/reporta...0elise/001.jpg
I know this because the cold air intake in the picture is the same model as the one I used to own on my original Rover engine from here http://www.elise-shop.com/hurricane-...ise-p-250.html however the owner must have modified it to fit.

However I assume this is not the usual cold ait intake solution and wanted to ask those of you who have more experience what you have done in this area.

    Thanks in advance

Well I'm not sure many people here have done a k20 swap into a Lotus :P
But your best bet is to probably get a custom intake system made up. I'm no professional though.

A lot of the DC5s and EP3s use the Gruppe M intake, with good results, pictured here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...is/gruppem.jpg

I don't think you could go wrong by replicating that concept, so a straight tube to the area under the clam behind the left side duct, with a filter enclosure similar to the picture you posted. The wheel well area should be a good source of cold, possibly slightly pressurised air. I'd use rigid tube rather than that corrugated stuff though, and use a big filter that incorporates a velocity stack if possible.
