    Prelude engine swap

    hey guys just after a little advise want to do an engine swap into my 1989 honda prelude 4ws(nothing wrong with the engine in there just want different) went for a ride in my mates civic type R and loved the feel but i like the look of the old prelude any suggestions for the engine n/a or turbo and the issues i might have eg 4ws system

    best way to chase the same performance as your mates CTR is to buy a DC2/4 integra (or a DA6/9) and put a B20VTEC in there, add some coil-overs and some big brakes...

    i had a B20VTEC in a 1983 Prelude and unless you have heaps of coin, or work in a mechanics, or have heaps of time and patience, you're going to have to ditch the popup lights and face reality of a new car...

    or you can bolt on a turbo to the B20A.

    that's really the only way to make the '89 faster...

        looks like it was. was it still 4 wheel steer after the conversion did you have to change the engine mounts much and love the inverted bonnet

          been looking at pricing for a new car vs the pricing for me to do the conversion or turbo the all sort of average out the same

            only the 3rd generation 88-91 had 4WS, mine is a 2nd Gen (thats why it has the backwards bonnet)...

            none of the original mounts were retained.

            if you can find a straight 89-92 integra, these can be made to go fast...

              Go to preludepower.com They are selling your prelude engine mounts for B18 and H22 kit for straight swap in.

                Tinker bell that explains a bit haha and yea i am looking integra's and i might just save up and buy a later model Dc2

                      I don't have the skills, otherwise I probably get the mount for B18 from them and drop the engine in my lude cita 91.

                      But b20 is a strong engine too....
