    Wire from O2 sensor snapped

    Hey Guys,

I was walking toward my car the other Day and noticed a wire hanging down onto the road. On closer look I noticed it was the wire from the O2 sensor which I assume runs from the sensor to the ECU. It has snapped most likely from my car scraping on a drive way/Speedhump etc as its low. The wire mustn't of been hanging right to begin with in that case.

I have a K Pro ECU so it has not thrown a CEL and there has been absolute no difference to the car or the way it drives. It is the only sensor BTW due to Kpro and TODA Headers. My Question is what effect or change has this made? Is it even required with an aftermarket ECU? Should I rewire it or not bother.

    Cheers,

Normally the o2 sensor is used for fuel trimming to control the air/fuel ratio on part throttles.

Without it you may suffer bad fuel economy. But since you have an aftermarket ecu, it depends your settings and tune. It may had been possible the o2 is disabled in your case and hence no check light is observed.
