    DC5S replacing stock boot lip/boot

hey guys i'm planning on putting on a stock spoiler from a DC5R on my 06 DC5s.
however, instead of going through the hassle of grinding off my bootlip on my 06 DC5S and all that jazz
I'm thinking of going to a wrecker and finding a dc5r boot lip with the spoiler.

i also plan on putting a wing on my dc5s down the track

just wondering, will it be a perfect fit? hard job? etc

    thanks

You don't have to grind anything off to remove the bootlip. Remove your tailgate trim... you'll find 4-8 clips and 2 8mm nuts for the tailgate. Undo them. Pop it right off.

The OEM DC5S tailgate has the spacing for the Type R spoiler already marked. Get a 3mm and a 7mm High Speed Steel drillbit and drill them out. Mount your new poiler.

As for wings, it depends. Some, such as the Mugen, Veilside and special order Voltex mount to the OEM holes... others, you'll have to drill a few holes.

Because they're silly. If you're in VIC I can help you out if you're struggling.

yeh i'm in the south east mate! plan on doing it real soon. also, the last idiot i took my car to get it polished and cut wrecked my paint on my boot lip
so im quite keen on replacing it. i prefer the dc5r stock spoiler anyway. looks more aggressive

You should speak to Zippie Type S - he has a thread on here with something similar to what you want to do.

Infact, the damage you have on your boot lip, could be removed if you install both the Type R wing and the boot lip.

There would be holes left behind after removing the boot lip from what I've heard, then you would have to get the holes welded back together and repaint the whole decklid.

Touch up paint the damage or get the duckbill resprayed.

Correct. Use grommets or respray. I just left the holes there with a little silicon on the edges. Doesn't bother me too much for the moments.
