2006 DC5 and S2000 recall for brake booster

Hey guys I missed this when it happened, but anyone more technically minded care to have some input on why this didnt effect any cars prior to 06?

Could be the slightest difference in parts used in the prior models that weren't effected.
Could be the way they were assembled.

Could be a number of reasons really?
