yeah, that's what it is about.

so that one day, where you are racing harder than ever (chasing that guy with a turbo), and it is going into the mid-30's ambient after already smashing out 5 sessions, you will be able to forget glancing at the gauge every 30 seconds to see how far past 130'C you are and concentrate on getting as much power down out of the corners as you can...

A good quality oil will handle 120degrees+ without shearing or breaking down, so temperature is not a problem for lubrication purposes. Of course, a good quality oil should also provide enough lubrication to reduce friction and lower temps, even if only by a little bit.

If on the other hand power is adversely affected by the change in heat, then I'm on board for reducing oil temperatures.

130degrees is normal (hot) for a DC2R, but obviously not desirable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4dF4cFHl6Y

Oh, and 115degrees is definitely on the hot side for freeway driving @ 4000rpm. Has it always done this?
Yes only in hot humid weather.

Car feels and drives fine. Oil is replaced every 1 year. Gets around 4000km in that time.
Oil looks new when drop it.

Normal driving it sits around 90. Thats stop start around 60-80km/h.
Only get high temps on constant speed down a free way.
My immediate concern here is that the oil looks new when you drop it as it should be black. There might be something going on inside the engine that may be causing this. I'd think you should start looking into what could cause this before you think about anything else.

130 does sound very hot and I'd concur with Tinks

I think its either sensor or gauge giving incorrect reading. I ysually run 10w-40.. went for 5w-30 and just had a track day. Didnt burn a drop of oil as I suspected...
