Hi folks, is anyone experience Redline SuperLight ShockProof Gear Oil for your be loved DC5R?
Any feedback about this brand of juice can provide please?
I haven't seen any comments from anyone who has tried Superlight Shockproof in their Honda gearbox. I don't think Red Line even recommend this fluid for a DC5R gearbox.
In terms of Red Line Shockproof series feedback, I've seen a number of mixed reviews on Lightweight Shockproof - either really positive feedback, or positive feedback followed up by "my gearbox is broken" soon after. Because of this, I'd generally try and err on the side of caution and recommend a non-shockproof oil like Red Line MTL. Its around the same viscosity as Honda MTF but has extra benefits of being fully synthetic.

I use to use Redline Shockproof, had no issues with it at all.
Just found it super expensive when I started to do more track days and was draining the fluids more regular.
you MUST MUST MUST put it in a purely clean gearbox.
never ever mix it with a different oil. ever.
i have been using it for over 6 years, and have only done 3 changes... in DC2R gearbox.
i am really lucky i fully rebuilt my gearbox, then went straight to Redline Shockproof.
its smooth as silk and lasts for ages!
i change it rarely - nothing like changing it every 10'000km like the OEM stuff...
Yes, I heard about it before, but my friend use it on his WRX without any flush process, he said the first 50km feel the gear change worse than before, but after 50km to 100km, he can change gear smoothly like joystick at TV game machine.
But the other story I heard is the gearbox totally FXXk up. quite scary.
I agree with above Amsoil synchromesh was great for my DC5R. Did the change about 4 months ago and has felt great since. Really made shifting down to second gear a whole lot smoother and great on cold starts.
