    06 DC5S clutch problem.

Hey guys, as of a few days ago i started getting some problems with my clutch... so before
i go and get a massive bill to get my clutch diagnosed i thought i'd see if any of you guys could help me out first.

so anyways, as of late my car's been struggling to take off and i think it's cos my clutch is gone. however the clutch was replaced not too long with an exedy oem replacement
(30xxx ks ago?) the bite point is literally just before i take my foot off the clutch and the clutch feels REALLY soft.
    what do you guys think?

I think its the good ol' clutch master cylinder!

Check your clutch fluid to see how much is left.
Check your clutch master cylinder to see if its leaking. There maybe damage internally without it being visible from the outside.
It's about $250 to replace one from Honda, so as i've been told by another member on here.

Otherwise, does your clutch slip? Try going slowly, 30-40km/h and flooring it in the highest gear. Does your rev's seem to climb faster / independent to your speed you're actually travelling?

Sounds like your clutch is slipping then. If it was replaced within only 30,000km ago, either you've been abusing it very badly since or it wasn't a brand new one put in.

Have you done anything to the clutch / gear box / slave cylinder / master cylinder?

Hey guys, checked the fluids and what not abd it all seemed fine.
@Butter I never abuse my car abd rarely launch it. I treat it like a baby!
I'm not sure what the last owner did but I've only owned it for 2 months..

I think the previous owner replaced it 30,xxx ago but OP only just owned the car for two months. So the previous owner probably abused the clutch before selling it to him.

So do you guys think the clutch is gone? Should I get it diagnosed or just get a New clutch?

if you smell burning - it is usually means it is wayyy gooone...

do you have a mechanic you trust?

I haven't smelt the clutch burning recently but it's getting harder to take off everyday.

Yeh I do mate. Some Honda freak from dandenong :P

I think i'll probably just buy a new clutch and go with the gut feeling. getting it diagnosed will cost a fortune

my gut feeling is it wasn't actually replaced 30'000km ago or the ex-owner could not drive a manual...

take it to someone you trust, and get them in the driver seat, a good mechanic will be able to tell in one go if the clutch is gone...

^ very good idea actually tinker. My mechanic races and lives for honda haha. I'll let him have a drive.
tbh, the car is very healthy but at the same time not healthy. full log book etc, however i think the ex owner missed the staples in looking after a car.

he was pretty clueless, lol. not to mention he flogged it when he took me for a drive
