    B18C2 loom VSS wire colours?!

    Hey all, I'm 90% through an b18c2 engine swap into an EG5.
    I tore the engine down and rebuilt the lot with mild compression increase and a few other bolt on bits.

    In using the original c2 engine loom, but unfortunately someone cut the VSS cables off it and took the sensor before I bought it.
    Now I have the 3 VSS wires ready to solder onto a new VSS plug I got from an EK4 hatch, but obviously the colours are totally different.

    Can anyone help me out and take a photo or tell me what te colours are on the OEM C2 loom?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks, Aiden...

    I've managed to find a few pics on the net, but they're unclear and I want to get it right first time lol!

    And I already have the EK VSS and wiring plug with coloured wires on them so it's just the colours on the c2 VSS loom I'm after.

    Thanks for your help!

        what colours can you see on the engine loom?

        black is usually one of them - that leaves two!

        one will be 12v = so you can measure that with voltmeter!

        that leaves one left - the SIGNAL wire!

            Thanks mate, my loom colours are 2 black, and 1 orange!
            One of the blacks has a yellow stripe, and the ek4 plug has 3 colours, think they're red yellow and green.

            I'll post some pics later on wham I get home.

            * thanks for your reply mate!

              yeah, if that is your colours:

              black = earth
              blk/yel = 12v switched
              orange = signal wire

              ill check when i get home (tomorrow) where each wire is located in the plug...

                Ok so took a few pics tonight of the wires in question.

                Wires on top = dc2 loom.
                Wires on bottom = Ek4 vss plug

                Loom colours are:
                Black.
                Black/yellow
                Orange.

                Vss plug colours are:
                Black.
                Yellow/white.
                Yellow/blue.

                And anyone tell me where they fit please?!

                Thanks...

                  yellow white = orange= signal
                  yellow blue = black yellow = 12V
                  black = black = ground

                  but as a sanity check:

                  if you did the above, would that mean that when looking at the VSS plug - the black is on the "left" & the 12V is in the "middle" and the signal is on the "right" of the VSS plug?

                    Tinkerbell you're a legend, no matter how or where I looked I couldn't don that info.

                    Took some pics for you to show the ek4 plug wire locations for future reference...
