    Itr Audm 2 Jdm Changeover

Hi guys i purchased a second hand jdm gearbox off a spoon engine (so theres chance of spoon) anyways upon changing the box over i realised the starter motors were slightly diff so i changed them over anyways all good there, i didnt change the speedo sensor or the reverse light switch off the jdm box just for reference. THE PROBLEM starts here all gears are nice and tight! HOWEVER reverse doesnt let me select, i tried rolling, slamming, clutching, nothing! now i hope it might be something simple pls help.. especially if someone has done this b4.
Car is dc2r by the way
    thanks guys

you have to open the gearbox back up to find out.

or ask the previous owner if it has reverse and if it worked.

i have spoken with the guy i purchased it off which is a online trader, he is goign to speak to the guy he purchased the gearbox off in japan, to find out his speculations as the spoon engine and box he imported came out of a race car, reverse was possibly not required, hopefuly if this is the case i can add it to the box!

...to save weight ? reverse is a small rod and a cog - maybe 200gms ?

Still , even race cars need reverse

yes, it sounds like that could be the case...

i have a reverse and the selector parts from a 2001 ITR gearbox,

and know how to fit them if required...

Tinkerbell Thnakyou for your help, i originally braught the spoon box to replace my current itr box as was in bad condition however i might be able to save reverse tho from the old box, do you know how to change these components over, i have never tried going this deep with gearboxes i have only ever changed the box its self?
if you would be intrested in a job? i will pm you

yeah, sweet, that makes it simple... PM me man... you in sydney? please fill out your profile some more...

reverse is the easiest thing to do inside the gearbox IMO...

but need to find out for sure if it is it, but either way you are going to have to open the box back up again...

well its inevitable the box must come back out as i have checked all the small things and nothing.
so i will have to open her up and see what the problem i have not attempted this before so fingers crossed, hopefully i can use the part off my old box that is faulty on this one.
