    I would also be interested!

Any difference putting on a OEM TYPE R LSD vs say... a J's racing LSD?

DC5R lsd will slot straight in. I would recommend replacing all bearings and synchros while you are at it & be prepared to possibly replace the clutch. PM if you need any more advice

No real difference in the install procedure, however a J's Racing LSD will require substantially different maintenance and may require different gearbox oil to be used, depending on who you ask. An OEM LSD is basically wear and maintenance free, whereas a clutch style LSD such as the J's Racing by definition has wear surfaces that firstly will contaminate your gearbox oil with wear particles, requiring frequent fluid changes, and will eventually wear out and require maintenance. So the ongoing cost of a clutch type LSD will be substantially more than an OEM type.

Josh can probably answer more accurately, but doing it DIY it was a solid days work (with a decent break to go and get dumplings for lunch) for me and a mate to do a clutch and gearbox swap in his car. So I'd expect a mechanic to quote for somewhere between 5-7 hours of labour for the job at a guess. Add maybe an hour or two for an LSD install, but that will depend on how much work you get done while the box is open. Just installing the LSD is reasonably straightforward, doing synchros and bearings is more time consuming.

From memory, it cost around $1200 for the install of my clutch and LSD and that included getting the flywheel machined

Cheers for the reply guys. Really helped. I've got a bit of work I'll need sleepingperformance to work on. Just getting everything together

Thought I post here for the Sydney Folk. Earlier this year I had my gearbox worked on by Top One Automotive. Price was $990 and this included:

Opening gearbox to replace all bearings and seal
                      Replace clutch and flywheel
                      install DC5R OEM LSD
                      replace final drive
                      replace 6th gear
                      supply 2xLitres of Honda MTF

Hope this helps. Gearbox still going strong, no dramas!
