VTEC Oil Pressure Switch - P1259

Hi all,

During an OBD2 scan of my ECU I picked up P1259 for the VTEC Oil Pressure Switch.

On the vehicle, I'm unable to locate Part N in this link (http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o...09_cr_rs33.jpg). It appears to be blocked off by a 12mm bolt. My understanding is that the JDM K20A didn't have this switch, but I am certain I have an A2. Perhaps the previous owner had the sensor fail and blocked it off?

Would anyone understand why this might be the case? I will look into it further tonight to see if there is a spare harness wiring dangling in my engine bay. It seems very peculiar that this is blocked off.

AUDM K20A2s don't have the VTEC oil pressure switch either. Nothing to worry about.

As Tom has said, if you are certain you have a K20A2 it's nothing to worry about since you don't have it at all.

Do you happen to have a k-pro with your car? Because if you do and if it really annoys you, it is possible to turn off that sensor in k-pro.

Either way it doesn't really matter anyhow, because I have a k20z1 with a k20a2 harness so I didn't have the plug for the switch on the harness even though I have the socket in the engine. I simply just switched it off in k-pro and It was all good. No dramas either.

Justin and Tom, cheers for the reply! I had done some reading and thought the lack of switch was only unique to the JDM K20A (according to CRSX)

I guess that clears some air.
