    Rear Speaker Recommendations for DC5S

    Hi guys,
Just wondering what speakers you would recommend to put in the back of my DC5.

I will be amplifying the rear speakers so I want to use them heavily for bass really :P

I dont care for the subwoofer either and rather not have one

    Thanks
    Pete

Alpine Type R's are smick! I had them in my older dc5r and didn't even used a sub, gave a very clean sound and good bass to it as long as your headunit has the controls (i had an alpine headunit also). I'm a Alpine fan but really can't go wrong!

        Would that be suitable?

People always recommend kicker as they are a high bassed sounding speaker apparently?

        Thanks guys

Hey mate, i do car audio installs and i can tell you right now you cant go wrong with kickers. I have kicker 3 way 6x9 speakers in my prelude and when i dont feel like having the sub on they crank and still shake the rear view mirror on their own.

Speaking of rear view mirror. Does anyone that owns a dc5 have the issue of pumping music and having the rear view mirror move? Anyonr know a resolution to this beside turning the music down?

Thanks for the information, appreciate it.

I will be be buying some kickers soon remove the sub and instead use the rear speakers for bass.

Should be able to pull a nice deep bass and do the job.

                  Thanks,
                  Pete

Yeah I had an amp for the speakers. So you can get full depth and quality from them!

What kind of amp did you get? Sorry for the noob question, is one amplifier for all four speakers? and how do you hide the wiring?

This is my setup. I use the head unit to power the 4 door speakers. As long as you keep the bass down, the stock speakers are perfect for mids and highs. I use a 1000w amp to power my p2 punch (Rockford fostgate). Wires are run under the rear seat and through the carpet by the door. If you are looking to do something similar, I can share how I mounted the speaker.

Is this thing you mounted on the boot the subwoofer or a speaker? I use to have a mono amp with sub like that. So are you using stock speakers or aftermarket speakers?

Have you changed the rear speakers of a DC2 before? My rear speakers have that tweeter thing so it blocks the speaker cover trim from sitting flush. Now I need to replace the rear speakers.
