Fixing that sloppy shift linkage on DC2R

So I've narrowed the sloppy shift problem to the U-joint on my DC2R and it would appear the only way is to get a replacement linkage with a U-joint that's not failing.

I'm hoping there's some creative person out there who has done something like...cut the pin and replaced bush on the U-joint?

    Anyone?

Won't be able to do that till next weekend unfortunately.

I'll try to describe it best as I can - with the car in gear, I get lateral movement. I've changed the bushes already and that's gotten rid of the longitudinal slack.

I asked around and did some searches - found a worse case on Google. I suspect that it's the same problem. Very hard to post the link on mobile but I'll get around to it soon.
