If your wanting great sound. You buy the speakers to match the amp! max output/ rms ect

No point buying expensive speakers to run off the deck. Stock or aftermarket they put out 50 watts at peak. $100 for a pair something like alpine kicker or JBLS would be good for running off the deck.

Agreed. Pioneer, Alpine or Kenwood are fine for running off the headunit. You will get good sound out of a headunit and 4 speakers. Any more than that and you need to look at matching the amp output with the right speakers.

Good to know, thanks guys! So basically go with the Pioneer, Kenwood or Alpine that are in my price range and have the best grill?

Do I need to consider tweeters or no? Thanks for the replies!

Ah, I have Hardrace engine mounts, so music isn't a big deal for me

Pioneer are my faves, just my $0.02 worth. No need for tweeters. Just get a headunit that has an ok EQ and you can get good sound out of that.

Any speakers played off a headunit that puts out 50w peak is not gonna be used to it's potential and waste of money
