Yep, thats the one!. Just trace it back from the Slave and you'll find that it has steel lines sitting infront of the firewall.

Right I see. I'll suss it out later. Is it okay to fill your clutch reservoir with brake fluid? Or is there a special clutch fluid? Excuse the dumb question. Never done clutch or transmission work before.

          Exactly as tinkerbell says.

Quick question for you all. Can you guys hear the clunking noise when you guys change gears? Just say you are in your driveway and testing out your shifter, mine is quite loud when i shift gears. Was wondering if it is the same for everyone else.

Mine is very loud too, I get weird looks when I am in underground carparks where the sound echoes.

Its quite difficult say whether its normal when I can't hear it. You should compare it with another dc5 at a meet to see whether there is a significant difference in "loudness" lol.

Truth! Will definitely do that next meet in VIC. Haha I can imagine it right now, the competition who has the loudness shifter.

Going to probably bleed my clutch over the weekend. Last time I looked my reservoir fluid was black and ugly.

So I did a full bleed and flush of the old brake fluid from the master and slave cylinders. It was an effort and a half to say the least. I'm going to test drive my car for the week and report back in regards to my original problem. My clutch pedal is a bit easier to press in now though. Don't know if that's a good thing or not but my gears still shift. What do you guys think?

Well you bled and flush, its obviously going to be better for the hydraulic system lol.

Yeah but in the process of bleeding, The pedal got super soft to press (Even after I tightened the bleed screw). Had to stop the slave fork from moving using my hands while my partner was pumping the clutch with the bleed screw open. It got a bit harder but not as hard as it used to be. To give you an idea on how much force you'd need to press in my clutch previously, you'd need at least a brick or two weighed on the pedal. Now I can easily do it with one brick.
