K20A3 with K20A2 head

Hey guys, i recently got myself a base dc5. I couldnt a type r/s..
Wanting to find out more info on k20a2 head on k20a3 bottom.
Has there been anyone here that has done it? ive done google searches on it and i see most people say that the head will bolt straight on but will need a kpro to run it. im pretty noob when nit comes to these thing.. but would get the vtec crossover with the head changed?
What else will I need to do to get it to rev up to 8k rpm?
How much will a build like that average? As well as will there be bigger power gains?

Forgot to say I would be running it would the stock 5 speed tranny.

Just get a k20a2 or k20a engine in there. Those go for around 2.5-4k depending on age and km.

I would go with a k24a3 swap over the k20a as the added torque matched to the 5 speed will be great for a daily

Straight k24 complete top and bottem with kpro would be most powerful and easiest and cheapest

Lol yeah just my gearbox is the downfall.
Complete k24 you reckon will be overall cheaper and better to do? You guys got a rough number on cost?

You could bye a complete k24 for around 1k I've seen them for sale With abit of work such as valve springs ect for $1100 I'm sure u could pick one up under a grand tho!

K24 will require a few more bits and pieces to get it all working. Need inlet manifold - RBC/ITR or etc, K20a throttle body or bigger, TPS sensor. Then it'll require a aftermarket ECU (KPRO common choice). Next will be headers since the K20a3 base are just rubbish, either aftermarket or JDM DC5/EP3 couple of hundred right there.

K20a2 are the cheapest out of all K20's, can be had for 2.5-3k. The k20Z1 and K20a are fetching 4k for long blocks.

@MYDC5R - If you need a k20a we have a few here going for 4k.
