    EP3 Suspension Decision

Hey guys, wanted to see if anyone can give some opinions or thoughts on a few options i have in regards to my suspension set up.

Ive got a EP3R with Mugen Showa struts at the moment, but the drivers side front has been bent slightly and thrown the allignment out. Ive been looking for a replace strut with no luck and It seems ill proably have to go get a new set of suspension. I was wondering what options do I have and what are the best?

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Suspension Decision

You have endless options. OEM, aftermarket shocks, adjustable shocks, coils etc. What do you want to do with your car?

I've wanted to make my car feel more planted and predictable on the road and track. I noticed with the EPS you dont get the feel like you do from the rack and piston but I've noticed you seen to get a better turn in from my experiences on the track. In terms of options I wanted to know if what would be best suited? Experiences from previous set ups would be a good to hear. I've never had a set of coil overs so I'm wondering what to get. I've been told the Silvers NEOMAX are pretty decent for the prices.

not interesed in looks, im interested in performance. I had the Mugen showa struts, which were nice but I cannot find a replace. I dont think they are repairable either so I'm looking at an upgrade.

Can you actually fix bent struts?

Have a read of the rules of the technical section Jimmy, posts like this aren't allowed.

Depends which bit is bent, if it's the lower bracket and it hasn't affected the actual shock insert itself it might be repairable. I wouldn't bother personally.

Can you give us an idea of your budget and typical use? How important is ride comfort? How important is track performance? Regarding GAB and Silvers NEOMAX and their ilk, cheaper coilovers have their place but to a certain extent you do get what you pay for. Buying a cheaper shock will come with a trade-off, be it poorer reliability or support, poorer materials or quality control, or worse performance. This isn't to say you can't get exactly what you want for a reasonable price, but you might be sacrificing something.

$1500 is what id like to budget around. I'm frequently going to late night drives to certain places and I enjoy the track so id sacrifice comfort for handling and overall performance. Im a real noob when it comes to coil overs so I'm just trying to get some feedback on others experiences and possibly a better solution. Appreciate your input guys.
