EP3R RBC Induction manifold fit with Gruppe M

    Hey guys,

Looking at getting an RBC Induction Manifold to put into my EP3R along with a 70mm throttle body (looking at Spoon). From what I see. RBC already has fitting issues into the chassis and I also have a gruppe m. In addition to that, apparently I need one of those Karcept adapters between my induction manifold and throttle body. I'm worried that my gruppe m would no longer fit after all this has been put in. Does anyone know whether it does or not?

    Thanks in advanced!

From experience a Gruppe M in a DC5R can be made to fit with the stock induction hose, Karcepts throttle body adapter and stock throttle body fitted to an RBC. Fitment is not great though, and it takes a fair bit of fiddling to get the hose to sit correctly. I imagine an EP3R would be similar.

Also this is on a K24 without the small bracket that holds the Gruppe M airbox down, just to the right of the valve cover.

Not too sure if your larger aftermarket throttle body will cause issues, but I doubt it since most Spoon throttle bodies are just modified OEM items.

You will need to grind of abit of your radiator support. Your Gruppe M should still fit dude. and in my opinion the Spoon 70mm Throttle body is overpriced for what it is. Why not just go the S90 or Skunk 2 70mm throttle body? Had the S90 in my car worked like a beaut.

i was actually going to get the skunk2 intake manifold along with their throttle body but then i read all the bad stuff about them which deterred me from going in that direction.

i do think spoon is overpriced which is also another reason why I decided to ask you guys. ill have a look at the s90 throttle body!

the 70mm should fit with an SFS silicone induction hose right?

Alot of well known performance Honda shops will still recommend the 70mm RBC over many other aftermarket units but if you have the extra coin... Why don't you consider getting an RRC instead (The RRC is from the FD2R)? The RRC is superior to the RBC but not by alot.

Definitely is but it's twice the price. Bang for buck is the RBC! =]

so your telling me that the half-ass performance car fg2 civic si has a better manifold than the ep3r.

afaik the RBC comes from the k20z3 from the FG2 which is meant to be SHITTER than the EP3R. RIGHT?

im not really denying the RBC is a decent manifold, so much as wondering WHY honda gave the better manifold to a sub-class car. does it make much sense to upgrade your type R with a civic Si part?

                          lol.

Correct, if he read what i wrote he would of realized that.
The RRC is better than probably all aftermarket intake manifolds and the beauty of it is that it's OEM.
