How To Remove Rust From Wheel Hub

I have rust on my wheel hubs and was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the rust and keep it off?
Can I paint it, and with what paint? I'm assuming that multipurpose spray-on paint will just flake off due to the heat...

VHT paint should do - how hot your brakes get will decide which one you use...

Just some 200-400 grit sandpaper and a wire brush, then you can use 3M Engine Enamel 300c or they have a 650c also, could use their caliper paint too same stuff.

Thanks. Have anyone actually had to do it to their own wheel hubs in the past? Would any of you recommend using something like vinegar or baking soda on this part first? Or is that too risky?

just leave it. I wouldnt be making dust any were near brake pads. Some may contain asbestos and other harmful crap.. Its normal for surface rust on them!

not if you do what is mentioned in post #2,

this will seal the surface and prevent the rust from reoccurring...

here, i will help with another picture:

the trick is to remove the disc from the car first

Ahhh seems so much work! But I hate the look of the rusty hubs... Even a female friend of mine noticed the rusty hubs... And if she noticed it, then everyone else must notice it too!

Anyone willing to do the job for me?
Or know of a place that might do it? How much would it cost?

BTW, thanks for the tips Dave!

my car is never going slow enough for people to notice my brake hubs...

maybe consider that as an option?

srs - it'd take hours, so my bid is $50 per corner incl paint...

Hard to go fast when your car is parked!

Yeah that's what I thought... Big job, a few hours of time... Something I didn't want to have to go through...

The fronts would be easy, just jack the front of the car up, take the wheels off and shift into gear whilst applying some sort of abrasive to the hub :P
