    CEL Issue (Error P1166 & P1167)

fcuk this engine light is pissing me off!
Put a new secondary walker o2 sensor, new extension harness so i don't have to cut anything, angled spacer for the o2 sensor and im still getting stupid p1166 and sometimes p1167. cleared it with the machine, taken out the fuse for 10 mins. fkn shit!

oh yeah i know that but will it work? has it worked before? Sick of spending money on this stupid engine light. $110 for sensor, $50 for extension, defouler i think was $25 or $15. fuarrk!

            sure it will

sensor will be placed back and will read less flow

how far back - dependent on ur mods

why did u buy a new sensor? was this old one kaput?

i used to rock 3 defoulers and never had a cel

does this CEL talk need a new thread? sounds like it can be useful for anyone who experiences this issue later down the track.

                  GOTTA CATCH'EM ALL.

Felix, I think a new thread for K20A Primary and Secondary Sensors would be valuable.

Toda headers toda cat powergetter catback and injen cai.
Old sensor had been cut and spliced to be lengthend to fit. Adrian at Toda told me buying a new sensor may fix the problem. so i bought a new sensor and the proper extension. I may puchase a straight defouler to plug onto the angled one then try that.

                        This bit is your key.
Tell Adrian, that you've bought a new sensor and still having difficulties, ask if he could offer you another suggestion to get the CEL to disappear.
A Defouler doesn't always work but most time it does.

If I remember correctly I;ve done all he said there can be done. He said also either ignore it, which im hesistant as even IF it does nto effect the car its the fact that its an engine light and shouldn't be there, or get krpo and disable it.

I just ordered another defouler, a straight one which i can bolt up to the angled one, i'll try that and see how I go. If not then I don't know.

The cel light comes up as far as I know is because its catching/reading too much air? So with the defoulers it reduces this? Correct?

If you turn the car on the light does not appear till about 10-15 seconds and stays on. I've cleared it with a scanner and tried the ecu fuse both resulting in the same outcome.

Will update this thread once 2nd defouler is on.

Its weird how you have this problem Phil. You deadset have tried everything. Really unsure of this.

Some tips for people in the future who may run into this problem.

Get an angled defouler. I purchased a straight one, only to find that when screwing this in, in addition to my secondary sensor. I was hitting the chassis. I solved this by cutting 10-20mm from the center and welding the edges together and fixed my problem ever since. Highly reccomend an angled defouler.

Oh and regarding the lack of wiring loom for the secondary sensor. getting the extension is a waste. Honda has left quite some slack if u follow the loom up towards the engine. Its been kept up there with either a cable tie or electrical tape. Just have to cut some away and you have plenty of slack to get the secondary o2 sensor screwed onto the defouler.

When the CEL light is on, it puts it in Limp mode. Lack of power and bad fuel consumption has been experienced so I wouldnt ignore it. Maybe its some signs telling you to get Hondata KPRO, Power and elminate the CEL light.
