Hi all, I am about to fit a <deleted> alarm onto my type s. i am getting it professionally installed. I just wanted to know, if there will be any problems associated in fitting an aftermaket alarm, as the stock alarm will still be in place. There is one issue i am aware of, which is some kind of chip in the key, that is read by the immobilizer upon ignition. the auto electrician i have contacted, suggested that the chip be taken out of the key, and assembled to the reader in the barrel of the ignition, to practically disable the factory immobilzer. Will any issues arise out of this in the future? i am not very good with auto electronics, I would be grateful if somebody can give me any advice. thanks

Beening a sparky its not hard.. But really its not difficult. Every cable you need to bypass it is at the module... The keyed chip makes it just that little harder..sigpic

the place where the module will be fitted, will be very difficult to access, let alone find. its a 2way alarm, and i will be notified, if the alarm goes off. it has an anti hijacking feature, so i can immobilise the car if needed. security wise, i dont think im in too much trouble, i just really need to know, if there will be any complication regarding the install
