Some tests I read a while make only show minimal gains for not running a cat (e.g. 2 or 3 kw). Also, as noodleman highlights, the fine is very large if you get caught on the road without a cat - some have said up to $10,000.
"No Matter that you have a PhD and have read all of Henry James twice. If you still persist in writing, "Good food at it's best", you deserve to be struck by lightning, hacked up on the spot and buried in an unmarked grave" (Truss, 2003, p.44).
good point, cannot imagine how much fine to pay if got busted with a cat-less race header..
10k+ for the owner of the car....adn fine for the place that installed the header....and i think the mechanic that fitted it lose their license for a long time too

doesn't worth it endy......thats why Eddie and RDC5 got mugen instead....coz it come with cat....save you the hazzel to go around to find an aftermarket cat plus installation....you properbley end up paying about 2k.....and mugen is only 2.5k bro.....just do some save up and get mugen .......Mugen FTW
never knew its such a deep consequence for running a cat-less header coz my friend used to run a cat-less header and just told me not to stand behind his exhaust coz of the toxic fumes.
there is one version of M-bit header with cat, is that legal to use on street? coz i read in some other forum said that that Maxim works header doesnt really have a cat but rather its a racing cat.
from the mugen website, the mugen header doesnt seem to have great gains to the power. When i think again, then whats the point to get an aftermarket header?

the point is to gain alittle power and not pay 10k. of course its rare that cops do check but do you want to be the one to come on the forum and tell everyone u just got owned with a 10k fine?
I think not.
Mugen header with cat is a street header. Now the most important thing here is the word STREET. It doesn't offer power like a catless toda and its not as light as one but all of those facts are useless.
If you want to compare compare it this way.
Is the toda header more powerful/lighter then the mugen header if you chop it up and slap on a cat? Who knows prolly 1kw-2kw in it but if you want to be anal ...........
BTW for racing mugen uses an exhaust which comes straight from the 2-1 pipes of the exhaust manifold, that is prolly better compared to the toda header
Good point Jingers......I'm with you bro.....its more important that you still use ur car as daily....thats why they divide into Race and Street use parts.....Race parts shouldn't be use on street at all......if there is no problem using racing parts on street....why they need to invest so much $$ to makeup another street use line up for you to choose.....
