    Brake Caliper Re-Spray?

Just bought a big brake kit want to re colour the calipers.
Been told to do it myself but have also been told by a mate that it doesn't turn out that great. What are my options, where do I go and how much $$$ am I looking at?

Do they powder coat them like wheels?
I have decided I want them the same colour as the gold Brembo paint theirs on the 350z and 34 GTR, they will be chillen under a set of boss black Regamasters!!!

    Cheers

Like rims they can get sand blasted and then high temp powder coated. Otherwise there is no reasson why you can't sand them back with spaper and spray paint them high temp caliper paint broski

That's the thing though, often I see the caliper respray done incorrectly and looks worse than when you leave it plain

I did my brakes alone. I don't know what all the fuss is about poor quality. I paint stripped them, primed them and used VHT caliper paint. Powder coating aint going to last forever either you know. I do recommened sandblasting them as manual paint stripping and cleaning did take a lot of time. But the painting process is extremely easy and does look good. What's the worst case scenario? Just re-do them again lol...

And Alex, the black on white looks nice, but is extremely not practical. Even after 1 drive your caiplers would look so dirty you'd be embarrassed to even show them. Their only good as a show pony.

Just to give you an idea of the cost break down.

                      Sandblasting $120-200
                      Powdercoating $100-300
Stencil to be made $25 from a signage company

Where as if you did it yourself
                      Industrial paint stripper $25
                      Sandpaper + metal scourer $15
                      Gloves $5
VHT Caliper paint $50 (2 bottles)
                      VHT Primer $25
                      Stencil $25

Only thing I would recommend is not baking them. If you have brake fluid still left in them, they expand and leak and will start stripping your primer/paint. Just finish them and then drive around and the heat from the breakpads should chemical finish them. Also, with this DIY you'll have alot of left over material other uses.

That is stewart though. Plus those were floating calipers, since yours are nice monoblock go for the powdercoating, will be more even on the flat surfaces.

                          True hey.

I might do the opposite, Black calipers and white writing.

Its beacuse I have grey / red and most liekly white wheels. Having Blue or any other colour will be too much.. Polished spoon calipers? haha nah black.

black with white writing sounds alot easier to maintain
