Jacking points

Jacking Points..
I no this sounds weird. But i was told jacking the car at the front jack point... Below the radiator can cause it to bend.... I thought thats cant be right.. But thought to ask?? I no a dumb question.. Thanks

Taken from the factory manual. It is perfectly fine to jack the car up from both the rear tow hook and the reinforced section of the lower radiator support, just make sure you use the reinforced part. I have done it on my DC5, other DC5s and DC2s, and my 20 year old EFs. If something breaks it was already broken.

i creased this "reinforced" platform with my hydraulic jack so started using the bottom of the front tow hooks or the the points behind the front wheel under the sills (dc2r)

Arr so there is some truth in the crap my mate talk's!! The reason i ask. Is i'm going to jack the car right up and leave on stands while doing the exhaust... I can't jack from the point behind the front wheels and put the stand there!!! so i was gonna jack from the front and use stands behind the front 2 wheel's.. But i was talking to my mate.. And his like this can cause damage if you jack the hole front of the car up off this point!!
Any more input would help please heaps!!

i actually creased the platform , pushed it in a little because of the profile of the jack pad. can do it from the front tow hooks ive done it heaps of times only need to do drivers side too , if your doing cat back exhaust.

sounds like you might need to take it to an experienced person, working under cars that are supported by jack stands is very dangerous if you are this inexperienced...

ive worked on car's for year.. I always used tire ramps.. The teg is to low for the ramp.. I am 100% aware how to use's stand's, Just wanted to no if what my mate said has truth in it!!

Yer ive had a jack fail on me before when i was changing a blown tire on the side of the road... I no not to get under with just a jack.. So tinkerbell.. Do you jack the front 2 tires off the ground using the front jack position???

nah, i do a side at a time using the tow points...

but this is quite dangerous too!
