Help uninstalling coilovers

hey guys! i was trying to uninstall my coilovers out of my DC5 yesterday and i got all the bolts except i couldn't get the coilover off the tie rod i know its hard to get off, but i hit it with a mallet pretty hard and it wouldn't budge...does anyone have any ideas how i can get the coilover off the tie rod? it was so fustrating especially putting all the bolts back as i couldnt get it off!

is that first image a tie rod puller or something? looks useful and yes i did use a mallet but the dam thing would not budge a bit! having said that it was a pretty weak mallet, but nonetheless i did manage to give it a few big hits but it did not want to move a mm...

don't use a hammer - you need the proper tool.

i think that one is for taking the actual ball joint out of the tie rod,

not for popping the ball joint out of the suspension arm...

Get what tinkerbell posted, often called a pitman arm puller. Put a nut on the thread and then crank away on the puller. You could get the super awesome Honda tool, part number 07MAC-SL00200, which is far better than anything you will get at the local shops but is expensive.

I agree that style of puller always seems to break. Except for the Honda OEM tool.
