    Paintless dent removal?!

Following on from the other thread; Brisbane is hitting storm season and unexpected hail is prone to happen...

... to cut the story short - was at work today; no undercover parking available; passenger side door recieved 8 minor dents size of 10c pieces...

after feeling sorry for myself for 5minutes I thought I'd just live with it, but I also heard of paintless dent removal which sounds quite attractive atm.

So, wondering if any of you guys experienced with PDR and what kind of costs am I looking at? ballpark figures? ... not gonna go with insurance 'cos of excess and it's gonna go on my history...

    Help out pplz!

when i got mine done it cost $50/panel, but if you got that many it may cost a bit more...it works but you will know there was a dent there cause it doesnt get rid of the ripple...and make sure the dude gets all the polishing shit off before he finishes, cause he didnt with mine and i had to wax it all off...

$50 sound rather cheap... excuse my 8yr old thinking... when you mention 'panel' does that mean the door? or the dent?

ohh i knew that haha... cheers mate! feelin' heaps relieved knowing it's not gonna hit the $200+ mark for such a petty job.

so if the damages are on my 2 door panels; does the price depend on how much dent is on each panel? or ur PDR specialist only charged by how many 'panels' need repair?

well depending on how many there are on each door it may cost a little bit more...like if you had 2 dents on one door and 27 on the other they wouldnt be the same price obivously...

Ballpark figure is $50 (give or take) per dent size of a 20 cent coin. Panels have nothing to do with the cost, the price only increases if it's a hard panel to get behind. But because you have multiple dents on one panel which makes it easier for the dent remover, the labour should be cheaper.

the PDR guy that we used before charged approximately $50 per panel, unless it was a large panel such as the bonnet.

We did have quite a few cars together though, and that helped to bring down the price a bit.

i did witness a dent removal guy in doing. And seriously, it do little to the overall dent. But then again, different kinda dent gets different results. What i notice is, after their knocking of the panel with their nails (or whatever's called), instead of seeing the original dent, you will see micro dents caused by the nails. A trade off?? Fixable by polishing???

lovesil from the sound of it the person u saw in trade isnt all that good. I have had 3 dents removed from a varience of cars and i do not see any trace of it. However he is quite expensive and maybe the cost of it is further raised by the fact he comes to me
