be careful guys looking into buying Type Rs

hey guys just wanted to share with you this...

    http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/...d=12DADDDC2C04

this is my old car...i got written off as i was involved in an accident late last year was just looking at cars for sale and it this got my attention after it was declared written off i asked my insurance company if i can take my parts off and they said i could and they would let me know before the car is sent off too the auction yard, but being who they are they and lack of communication they sold the car off before i had the chance to do so..my hard earned money, time, labour costs, sacrifices i made to the car were gone down the drain.... you can tell this cars been resprayed the paint looks fresh, the type r sticker is missing on the driver side, type r foot rest is missing and i buckled the front driver side rim, which is why its the only wheel missing my RED rays lug nuts...i can go on forever, but this is jsut reminding me how much money i poured into this car as my first car and the effot i put into it i babied it and i lost it. i just wanted to share with you guys to watch out! thsi guy didnt import shit or do anything do the car and bought it smashed at a auction for less than 5k! im so sad

Bloody insurance company. They can't legally sell your car with stuff that wasn't under the insurance claim. Went through a similar story. Ended up stripping the car bare.. And left stock radio, speaker's and all parts i took out originally sitting in the boot and kept my mods. Still got payed out in full.

Bad news. You don't happen to know the VIN/engine number from your old rego papers or anything do you? I have seen wrecked Type Rs at auction in barely repairable state and always forget to note down the VIN to warn people at a later date.

            Similar news with this one.
this was my old car which was in a frontal accident with a klugar with bull bars... which basically ripped into the whole side fenders well into the chassis. As can be seen in the pictures, whoever brought and repaired the car did so with a non type r front bar... if they went cheap on that i doubt they did the repair a proper way.
The car should be listed on Revs check as repairable w/o

more reasons why i dislike big 4wds one the road they cant drive thats the reason they buy a tank with bull bars to protect themselves... bull bars should be banned for road use its inappropriate as there is no crumple zone to minimise damage caused...
her car got away without barely a scratch....

I love my off roading but i tell you only about 10% of 4wd's have actually been off road.. Bad driver's buy them. To feel safe and secure, as there nearly involved in accidental every day. They put every one else life at risk. Rather buying a smaller car thats easy to park. Less blind spots and more control. They go for the biggest thing so when they crash they just destroy every thing in there path. but there safe..... Its a bloody joke. You should have to prove that there's a need for a recreational offroader. Or they shouldn't be able to buy it!!!!!!!!!!!

Since we are stereotyping, wouldn't they be even more dangerous if they were Asian?

Bad drivers exist in all cars. To say that accident prone people buy them so they're safer is incredibly misguided.

we never mentioned "accident prone" people buy them
but more like selfish people only worry about their own safety.
bullbars are just not necessary in a city car end story. fair enough for country goers its perfectly legit need for a 4wd where there's less likely to have nice paved roads and more prone to puddles in rain. The amount of "city" goers in big 4wd is ridiculous these days.

its a known fact that in a collision between a 4wd and a passanger car
the 4wd driver/passanger will more likely get away without a scratch compared to passanger car occupants. Add bull bars to the mix and its equivalent of being hit by a truck except trucks now have bars to prevent cars going UNDER where as 4wds do not. ALOT of people purchase a car with that reason ALONE and you'd be only kidding yourself if you think otherwise. not saying ALL but ALOT!

as with every "stereotype" theres always going to be the few bad apples which ruins it for everyone. but bull bars on a city car is something i strongly disagree with.

                          You know the funny part..
People here are actually taking this topic serious of dodgy sellers while people on Ozhonda and trash talking this poor bloke for trying to help the community...
One thing is for sure... The community here is alot more user friendly...

                          Agreed with Fish...
My parents had a 4WD last year but didn't get a bull bar due to the fact the car was mainly in the city, my parents thought about the possible damage done to another driver.

Only reason my parents bought it was because it was a much comfy car for my mum to drive in compared to her old car (E240 Mercedes..) They just recently purchased a C63 AMG and tbh... It's just as comfy as her old 4WD...

Agreed with what you said though mate, alot of people just look after there own protection and don't give a damn about anyone else which is sad..

Shows what this world is becoming =(
