Do many DC2R owners here take their car on long distance drives?
How does sitting on 5000RPM+ for a few hours feel to you in your DC2R?

what classifys as long distance? I drive from city to eastern creek/blacktown, atleast once a week, its not "too bad" im on standard mounts/zorst aswell..
I use to drive to melbourne from sydney and back alot and it's fine. I've done 3 hour+ stints between breaks with no problems. Rev wise, you'll be just under 4000rpm at speed limit. Revs is annoying but you'll get use to it. Turn the music up
I am averaging about 5000rpm for a couple of hours at a time..

I drove to brisbane a few years ago at christmas time - double demerits, so I stuck on 100kmh the whole damn way. It ranges from 3000rpm @ 90kmh to 4000rpm @ 120kmh and both feel fine, there's a couple of rough spots in between but mostly smooth and not annoying.
I'd go as far as to say that I found this the most comfortable car I've ever driven on such a long voyage. This sounds outrageous, but because of the firm ride, it just was the least tiring of all. I reckon it was easier to stay awake because there's less between you and the road.
Oh, and sitting on 100kmh, it did 650km on 43L of fuel! Imagine if it had a taller 6th gear...

lol how?!?! my engine is in perfect condition and i can't get more than 500 k's out of a full tank...usually closer to 450 - 460!
oh and on the comfortability...people say the dc2r is uncomfortable, i find the sr3s more comfortable than any other seats i've been in (bmw, merc, etc). i don't know, maybe it's just me :P
Yeah standard rim/tyres.. I think the speedo says about 140kmh but the Tom Tom GPS says around 130kmh. I noticed my speedo is out by about 7-9km/h when going at 100km/h+ ..

with you there.
love the stock recaros. couldn't help but compare them to the brides in my Z and even though the hold is slightly looser than the brides, long distance comfort is unmatched.
