Not that i'm encouraging illegal doings, but if you stick a normal roadplate on these and drive it on road.....who will know if it's a non registerable car as it looks the same as all DC5R :P

Pretty damn expensive if you ask me. they want 24k with shipping or any of the other government costs so your looking at 35k for a car with 87 000kms, not exactly cheap, you could buy a modded aus model cheaper which would be quicker than the JDM...

What makes this car illegal to drive.
Don't we have members that have a proper JDM DC5R???
Whats the big deal with the car, it hasn't been modified heavily.

i know of 2 jdm dc5rs. One is a personal import, the other has been acquired through other means.

There is no sevs compliance for the dc5r and hence why you cannot import it normally.

It can't be imported under SEVS since we already have DC5 Type R in Oz...so it can only be imported for racing purposes...

                          ^ what he said

There's only 4 ways to import, but only 2 of these allow you to drive on Australian Roads.

i think some rally rego might offer u a chance to drive too. But you have to ring up rta and report to them where you are leaving what time you are expecting to come back and they can issue with a permit i think..

Another way is to buy a DC5 (non-r) and put all that car's details on this imported one. I met a guy with a modded S14a, plan to buy another stock s14 and swap plates. If he even get a fine or anything, he can always argue later that his car is not there at that time. Don't know if it works, but......never knows.....
