lol i had an yellow adm integra type R wioth 180km avalible to me for 10k only a few months ago.. and it was in fantastic condition for its age..

id say its worth 10k, if that.. a 10year old car that u can see has had its fair share of thrashing here and also thats its an import?? wouldnt be worth it to u to pay more than that.. also concidering how old the car is and that the engine as u saids had a good run in here an o's where it also could have been clocked back ?? so god knows how much life the engine has in it.. paying 11 - 12k, plus the 4k it would cost u to put a new engine in it?? isnt worth it in the slightest..

    my 5c

Ok that sounds a little more realistic, thankyou. I now know that it has had only the one owner in his 50's and was bought brand new and kept in Japan for a year before it was brought over in 1998 to Aus. Selling price is $8000 so I'm beginning to think it's worth it if the inspection goes well. What motor tests should I definitely get done with an inspection eg. compression test etc?

far as motor test goes, just to all ur regular ones.. its a 15yr old car, its bound to have some floors sumwhere.. tell owner when u get there u want it cold, and i mean hasnt been started that day cold so u can check fluids, check start from being completely cold, check pinging and consistantsy of idle.. check idle solonoid works properly **car revs around 1400rpm for 1st 5 mins un-interupted**

take for a drive, let him drive and ask him 2 give it a hit for u haha check for smoke during vtec changover, check car doesnt turn off while stationary and turing steering wheel, turn off stereo and check for bearing noises, check engine/gearbox mounts as well as control arm bushes n things like that.. if the last few owners have been younge unlikely things like that have been changed..

            Thanks for the input DC:53:XX!

The car as I said is for my younger brother. He is 17 and about to finish school so this will be his first car... and knowing what I was like with my first car, I wouldn't want him neglecting and thrashing a nice DC2R and rather him learn the ropes with something that has lost a large slice of its resale value in the first place... as long as the motor is running ok.
When I get some pics of this car I'll post them up.

I actually own the DC5R in my display pic and am quite happy with it
