It doesn't matter if they crash or not, or if most crashes are by elder people with full licenses. Most P-platers look around more when they drive and more alert... but it doesn't mean you have to thrash the shit out of your car all the time, and hit stupid crazy speeds.

The Adelaide news paper had an article a few weeks back detailing the road deaths so far this year. of the 61 deaths 40 were outside the metro area.
In SA very few people live outside the metro Adelaide area. I would say 99% of all km travelled would bein the metro area.
and yet all the police do is patrol the suburbs for people doing 7km over the limit. anyone who says speeding is about safety and not about revenue raising is full of sh!t

maybe he understands why we speed.. (L-platers, P-platers and Full Licence drivers as well)
"oh sorry officer, I couldn't help but speed because public transport is crap" ?? Don't think so...

Why didn't they just say "We're introducing a new fine...." Cause it's not popular, So let's spin-it.
"1 to 10kmh over the speed limit will attract one demerit point and an $84 fine" Which is all it is.... More revenue....Yippee! PINHEADS!
The only thing that could have brought a worst responce is if the "Stay Safe Committee" were involved. I reacon they are responsible for heaps of death on our roads. Mostly due to not being able to recognise the proper danger issues. Most of which have been mentioned above.
'P' platers are the only one that overtake me nowdays.sigpic
