    Kumho KU36 - opinions

    Hi guys,
for those that have recently bought the Kumho KU36 tyres and are using them on their DC5, can you give an account of your impressions on these tyres?
Like road noise and wear. I'm not too concerned about the grip levels, because I'm sure they'll be decent enough for daily use. Also just a general feel and response of the tyre. Also how is wet weather grip?

    thanks guys!

wear seems to be fairly good for me, even after 2 track days, the wear has not dropped by much at all!
Road noise isnt too bad either, i'd give it a 6-7/10
Wet weather is ok, ihavent really done much in the wet with it but i think there are better wet weather tyres out there for a similar price but dry weather is awesome.

They feel strong and a little twitchy for me but thats how i like it.

thanks Didz, i was hoping you would see this thread!
Do you use these as daily tyres? How are they noise wise on the highway?

I have used them as a daily, yes. The highway is not so bad but that being said, I went from RE-01 to these and the difference is huge. So much quieter than the bridgestones.
I can use my oem headunit on the 4-5 volume level with the radio and hear it! (sorry if ur headunit is different :s)

Overall, im happy with the road noise. I dont like too much noise in my car. I like to hear the engine sure, but i dont like over the top road noise
I would recommend them as a good quality (and value for money when i bought them!) tyre.

you mean you can hear the tyre/road noise of the RE-01 at 4-5 volume setting? or the KU36?

I mean, on the re-01 i cant hear shit unless its at 8-10 volume setting.

The ku36, i can hear it on 4-5

i'm tossing up between RE001, S.Drive, KU36 and Dunlop SP Sport Max...can't decide.

from what others have said, the KU36 should be a lot better than the others u have mentioned.
That being said price needs to be considered as for street purposes only, they are a little overkill

I would recommend KU36. even tho they wear slightly quicker than normal tyres, but they hold in dry. also especially for the price range.

the wear is from the low treadwear rating; 180, which i believe is the same as the RE001.

I was hoping that KU36 would be around RE01R, AD07 range but maybe it's not.

It is rated at their level. DO some research man, there is heaps of info on them.

KU36 is semislick. so is around level of RE 01 but not as good as bridgestone. I know a guy using RE001 before and he give me pretty negative review on RE001.
