Buying a DC5r.. does anybody know history of these cars??

im sure this topic has been convered many many times but thought id just ask for a little extra help..

looking to pick myself up a dc5r.. have cash ready to buy and am simply just looking around for the right one ..

1st choice so far is this one here..

its a black dc5 with low km... stock as a rock
doesnt get much better.. as far as i kno anyway..
perhaps theres sumthing sum1 else nkows about that i dont??


alternatively threw a friend of a friend i found a gem..

CW DC5R with 60 thou odd kms.. wheels, HID, lowered.. ect ect basic mods
But thing that worries me most is for the price im getting it for with the kilometres is has almost seems 2 good 2 b true..

ill get some pictures of the car today and post them up... car is located in melbrn so was hoping it'd come up as familia to some members up that way as im from sydney?? and posiably i could get some info on the car.. it aparrantly has service history from 40kms upwards.. so this is where im worried... apparantly has ware on the seat.. creasing plus but dirty.. though a friend of mines dc5 at 55kms the seat is immaculate..

is there any sort of check can do on the kilometres?? perhaps contact honda dealer n pay for a check on when last service was done??

or sumthing on the car that would make the age and condition of car very obvious..


i do go threw cars quite frequently... but planning on keeping this one for a while.. was gona buy a s2000... kilometres are just to high and interior to squishy for a big boy like me...

was also on verge of getting a e46 bmw coupe... but my best friend has one so yeah... tryna steer away from it.. plus im 19.. ill save the joy of my first bmw when im around 25 - 30 n get myself a m3


also if anyone else knows of any nice dc5r's or type S's going around at decent prices please point them in my direction

got 25k cash.. haha and would like a car sooner than later because driving round the little daily SSS poosar i got aint that much fun

dc5s are goin down now, under $20k for low kilometre dc5, frigiity.. do a v check to see the history of the vehicle.. you can get them done at dealers for a small fee (they might do it for free) or you can do it on the net somewhere (not sure where though)

iv done the regular revs checks and that.. just wondering what checks can be done to find out service history on the car?? haha is there any such thingg

also turns out this 60thou km dc5r is actually 140thou kmss spoke 2 sum1 from the are where this guy is located n was told he is a trader n does these sorta things all the time..

A cousin or best friend of yours can't hook you up with a low k's one for < $20k?

Because if I remember correctly, a while ago (6 months or so) you would tell everyone trying to sell there DC2R's and DC5R's that you or someone related to you (Cousin/friend) picked up a cleaner and lower k's version for like $5k less then what they are asking.

thats because he did very good friend of mine picked up a silver dc5r with 45ks i think it was?? for 21 - 22... i actually put it threw to him.. it was for sale on this forum... dont remember whos it was though... only mods being a set of tein SS and edfc which my friend also bought off the owner few months later down the track...

I HAVE NEVER SEEN A MORE DICKED DC5r IN MY LIFE !!!
to try put an immage in ur head of how bad it was... in comparison to any regular dc5 iv seen..

its like standing a spoilt overfed kid next to a incredibly mal-nourished ethopian child.. complete honnest iv never seen a wrse dc5 in my lift n just seeind a dc5 in souch bad conditoin i think has completely turned me off the thought of dc5's altogether..
