is it easy to steal a dc2r? i thought there is an imobilizer that gets enabled electronically when the key is in the ignition? i thought it would need to be a "inside job"?

not if my friend was living in auburn... i was in his house for like 15mins and it was gone.. i've parked there before many times so i am pretty certain it's some lebbos that lives up the road from my friend...

thing is.. no matter what car you have it can still get stolen regardless.. if you're at the wrong place at the wrong time.. there's no stopping it. my family friend's 97 camry got stolen from Leighart. If someone thinks the car is easy to take.. they'll take it.

yeh that was me visiting my other mate.. but i could always see the car from his window so it was okay.

thing is my alarm didn't go off completely not even enough for me to hear it .. if it did they must've turned it off really quickly.

Auburn has the highest rate of car theft in Australia by far.

Sorry to hear its been pinched but I agree with others that we need to take preventative action.

                BTW Its Leichhardt bud.

Hate to say it but if you had a decent alarm system this would have never happened.

If the alarm is installed correctly it will take a lot longer than 15 mins to start it.

Your alarm was obviously simply poorly installed.

Anyone on this forum that thinks the honda immobiliser does anything is a fool.

I can't believe you didn't at least have a club lock on it.

alarm was there when i bought the car.. i didn't exactly have a reason to question it.. not like my car had been stolen before.

as for club lock how many people actually use it now days.. most people rely on their alarms which is what i did.. not like i knew how well the alarm was installed the fact that it worked was sufficient enough for me. But obviously that's not the case now..
but my next car will definitely have a kill switch and a club lock.

An alarm doesn't really protect the car. At most it is used to deter the thieves.

My uncle got his dc2r broken into once to steal his recaros and powerfc. This happened in the fox studio car park. The alarm was stripped out and smashed on the ground to rub it in my uncle's face to show how useless alarms are.

Honda's security in general are very poor. Probably it's as easy to steal as a Hyundai Excel.

Not every DC2R owner wants to hand over their pride and joy to some fool for pez cash.
